When is enough enough for pro athletes, or for any athlete. If you have ever played a sport, realizing you have diminishing skills and talents is tough to grasp, whether you make millions of dollars or owe thousands of dollars.
When the brain says go and the body says, are you kidding me? No athlete wants to give in. No real competitor ever wants to come out of the game unless they are hurt, and then in our culture, guys are taught to “tough it out”.

Growing up in the Boston area in the 60’s and 70’s was an experience whether you were a sports fan or not. My mom and dad, brother, and cousins would take me to whatever sports event was in season, basketball and the Celtics in winter, Red Sox in spring and summer, and the Boston Patriots in the fall. Back then, only the Celtics won championships, and they won EVERY year so even that wasn’t as big a deal as it is now.
