Kansas City at Atlanta
Atlanta comes into this week ranked third in the NFL in rushing yards per game, where as Kansas City ranks thirty-first against the run.
Expect rookie Matt Ryan to ride Michael Turner to victory. I expect Turner to run for 125 YDS and 2 TD’s.
31-13 Atlanta over Kansas City.
Oakland at Buffalo
With Darren McFadden nursing a sore toe the Raiders do not seem to have an identity on offense. JaMarcus Russell has not been worthy of his #1 overall pick two years ago so there will be no air attack.

With the offense struggling with Matt Hartline under center yet again, Randall Cobb stepped up and showed why was the talk of spring camp by leading the Cats to a 38-3 victory over Norfolk State.
“I thought Randall for the most part handled himself very well.” Coach Rich Brooks said of Cobb.
“He threw some really good passes and Dicky [Lyons Jr.] made a really nice play in the end zone, a huge play.”
With Matt Hartline in the game Kentucky simply was not able to move the ball against Norfolk State, which led ...

BIG EFFORT, LOSS
On February 20, 2008 Dwight Howard became one of only four players since 1986-87 to score 30 points and grab 15 rebounds in a losing effort 6 or more times in one season.
The other players on the list are Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon (1989-1990).
THE MICROWAVE
In the 2007-08 season Ben Gordon became only the fourth player since 1986-87 to score 30 or more points off the bench at least 7 times in one season.
He joins a cast of strictly 6th men: Ricky Pierce (1990-1991), Thurl Bai...

When one thinks of the Governor’s Cup between the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals, they usually think of high scoring barn burners, inflated stat sheets, and lackadaisical defensive efforts. The exact opposite of what took place Sunday afternoon at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
This year’s matchup resembled more of rugged, punishing style than the spread out, passive clashes of years past.
Over the previous five meetings, the winning team had averaged 39.6 PPG compared to the 27 points that the winning team...

Starting today I will be posting interesting statistics and oddities influenced in the 2007-08 season.
WADE SHINES IN LOSING EFFORT
On December 28, 2007 Dwyane Wade scored 48 points and dished out 11 assists in a losing effort against the Orlando Magic.
Wade is one of only five players to score at least 45 points and hand out 10 or more assists in a losing effort since 1986-87. Stephon Marbury did it twice, once in 2001 and once in 2005. Both were against the Los Angeles Lakers.
BEHIND THE LINE
In the 2007-08 season two player...

In previous years there have been many notable and recognizable players featured in the annual Governor’s Cup game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals.
Last year featured two high profile quarterbacks, Andre’ Woodson at Kentucky and Brian Brohm at Louisville, who made their mark on the Kentucky High School scene before leading their teams for multiple seasons.
But this year is different.
Each team has players that their own fan base recognize, Kentucky has Micah Johnson, Jeremy Jarmon, Trevard Lindley,...

Three years of preparation. Three years of waiting. Three years of payback. All were put to rest Sunday morning in the Gold Medal game against Spain.
Team USA finished their journey in successful and surprisingly fashion with their 118-107 victory over a very worthy opponent in Spain.
“We knew that they were going to bring it and they did.” said Kobe Bryant. “In a game like this you really have to play as a unit to be able to come out with a win.”
“I think Spain played an incredible game today. They sh...

There has been one team that has stood out in USA Basketball history.
One team that ended a dynasty.
One team that ended what seemed to be the inevitable result in each Olympic games.
That team plays against the U.S. tomorrow morning at 10:15 AM ET.
That team is Argentina.
The Argentines pose another type of challenge for Team USA because they have a roster filled with experienced veterans in high major basketball leagues across the world. “They have five or six guys we play against on a daily basis in the NBA. It’...
